The Vice President of the NCHA is a vital part of the organization, working alongside the President and Executive Committee to help guide the future of both the NCHA and the sport of cutting. Lackey won the Vice Presidency election with 52.6% of the votes in his favor.
“I’m truly grateful for the trust and support the membership has shown throughout this campaign,” said Lackey. “NCHA means a great deal to my family and me, and I know it means just as much to so many others who have invested their time, passion, and hard work into this association.”
“I’m committed to leading with integrity, fiscal responsibility, and a vision focused on growth, unity, and long-term success,” he continued. “I believe our best days are still ahead of us, and I’m excited to work together to continue moving NCHA forward.”
Lackey has proudly been a member of the NCHA since 2013 and currently serves as a North Carolina Director, a member of the LAE Committee, and Vice President of the Area 18 Cutting Horse Association. A dedicated supporter of the association’s future, he is a longtime sponsor of the Mary Kingsbury Amateur Sportsmanship Award and has hosted the Peach State Futurity Saddle Shootout for the past five years.
Professionally, Lackey is an entrepreneur and business leader with operations across the Southeast. As a ranch owner, equine breeder, and competitor who has shown at every level of NCHA competition — from weekend classes to Limited Aged Events — he brings both hands-on industry knowledge and executive-level business experience to the role.
The NCHA looks forward to Lackey’s leadership and positive impact in his new role as Vice President and is confident that his experience and dedication will continue to strengthen the association and its membership.
