NCHA ANNOUNCES NEW CHANGES FOR WEEKEND COMPETITION IN 2022

The National Cutting Horse Association is excited to announce the new changes for NCHA weekend competition including the addition of a new circuit, the reinstalment of NCHA Weekend, and new locations for the Eastern and Western National Championships.

“Our weekend cutters are stronger than ever. The launch of the National Circuit Program earlier this year was a huge success, and it continues to grow,” Jay Winborn, NCHA executive director, said. “We are thrilled to be able to bring even more opportunities and recognition to our weekend cutters as we move into next year.”

In 2022, the National Circuit Program will increase from the original 12 circuits to 13. A revised map including the newest circuit, the Pioneer Circuit, which will include Washington, Idaho, Oregon and northern Utah, is now available online at nchacutting.com/know-your-circuit. The implementation of the National Circuit Finals has been postponed for 2022. Additional information on this future event will be forthcoming.

Another change for 2022 is the return of NCHA Weekend. NCHA Weekend, formerly known as NCHA Day, is a unique experience for cutters to gather and celebrate the sport of cutting within their regional level as the sport is being celebrated across the nation. During June 23-26, 2022, each of the 13 circuits will select an affiliate to host an exclusive NCHA weekend show. Each of these shows will offer double circuit points along with $5,500 in added money and awards per event provided by the NCHA.

Furthermore, both the Eastern and Western National Championships presented by 6666 Ranch will have new homes in 2022. The Eastern Nationals will be hosted in West Monroe, La. From March 3-12, 2022, and the Western Nationals will be held May 19-28, 2022, in Reno, Nev. Along with the new host cities, each class offered will have $20,000 in added money. Additional information on these shows, including the tentative schedule, entry deadlines, and more will be forthcoming.
