Colgrove Cashes In

Consistency paid off for Blakley Colgrove of Boligee, Alabama in the Non-Pro division of the 7 Ranch NCHA World Finals in Fort Worth on December 7, 2019. Riding Cat Man Blue, she strung together scores of 222 / 222 / 223 / 224 for a cumulative 891. That earned her $23,536 and the World Finals victory over Caitlin Rice with $22,088. Colgrove is also the Reserve World Champion, with earnings of $59,552 for the year.
Colgrove, who has earned more than $735,000 in NCHA competition, also qualified for the NCHA Futurity Non-Pro semi-finals next Thursday on Rather Smooth and R Rated Cat.
She has won Non-Pro championships at the NCHA Super Stakes Classic, Cotton Stakes and Augusta Futurity, and Unlimited Amateur titles at NCHA Classic Challenge, NCHA Derby, Breeders Invitational, Southern Derby, Tunica Classic, Augusta Classic and Ike Hamilton Derby. She was the Amateur champion of the 2014 NCHA Futurity on Paradox Cat.
Cat Man Blue is a 12-year-old stallion bred by Jim Vangilder by High Brow Cat out of Quintan Blue. He was an NCHA Super Stakes Classic champion under Sean Flynn and has earned more than $280,000.
Second in the World Finals, Caitlin Rice of Weatherford, Texas, has lifetime earnings of more than $275,000. She put together scores of 226 / 217 / 223.5 / 224 / 890.5 riding Metallika, a 9-year-old Metallic Cat x Nyoka Pep gelding bred by Billy Martin.
The Non-Pro World Champion is Ali Good of Ringling, Oklahoma, who earned $97,044 on CR One Time Catty and her World Finals mount Cat Atat Cat. She earned checks at 64 shows on her way to the World Finals.
At age 20, she’s the youngest Non-Pro World Champion in NCHA history. She won the second and fourth round at the World Finals with scores of 227 and 228, respectively.
