Resounding success for Rose Valley Ranch Reduction Sale

Cattys Hope brought the top price of $625,000 at the Rose Valley Ranch Reduction Sale.

A strong market for proven cutting horse pedigrees was reinforced at the Rose Valley Ranch Reduction Sale on September 25, when 63 sold for $2,693,700, with an average of $42,757.

Special Nu Kitty, Hip #1, launched the sale with a winning bid of $285,000 from Julie Wrigley. The 16-year-old High Brow Cat daughter, with life time earnings of $301,268 and produce earnings of $573,215, sold with an embryo conceived by Rollz Royce.

Cattys Hope LTE $281,030 was the sale’s high-seller at $625,000. The 7-year-old Catty Hawk daughter was purchased by Rocking P Ranch LLC, Fort Worth, Tex., who also claimed 13-year-old  Sly Playgirl LTE $343,467, the sale’s second-highest seller, for $500,000. The producer of the earners of $303,940. Sly Playgirl, by That Sly Cat, sold with an embryo by Metallic Cat. Rocking P Ranch also acquired the 11-year-old Dual Rey daughter Wicked Wanda Rey, along with her embryo by Metallic Cat, for $150,000. Wicked Wanda Rey is the dam of the Metallic Cat daughter Wicked Little Cat LTE $70,196.

Three-year-old Gimme A Lyft, in training with Michael Cooper, brought $60,000 from Tom DeRegt/Carmel Cutting Horses, Carmel Valley, Calif. The Metallic Cat daughter, out of Bet On Houston LTE $44,972, is a half or three-quarter sister to the earners of $971,115, including Bet On A Cat LTE $428,995.

High selling yearlings included the Hottish stallion Im In Hott Water, at $57,000 to Ty Smith, Edmund, Okla. A half-brother to Suen You Will See LTE $191,141, by Boon Too Suen, Im In Hott Water is out of the High Brow Cat daughter Cat O Connor LTE $70,071, who also sold with an embryo by Hottish, to Ty Smith for $57,000.

Slytly Sophisticated, a yearling filly by High Brow Cat out of Sly Playgirl, sold for $47,000 to Victoria Johnson, Houston, Tex., while Reyd Me My Rights, a yearling stallion by Stevie Rey Von out of Sly Playgirl, brought $42,000 from Lisa Kruse, Dallas, Tex.
