Summer Spectacular Update

Jun 24, 2020, 16:46 PM by Jay Winborn
An update regarding stall requirement at the summer show

June 24, 2020

Good Afternoon Cutters,

As of 1:30 PM on Wednesday, June 24, NCHA received notice from the Will Rogers Memorial Complex (WRMC) that they have removed the clause regarding the day hauling in and out of the complex. As I have previously stated in my weekly letters, these guidelines and protocols are changing daily. If this WRMC policy remains, stalls will no longer be required for entered horses at the 2020 NCHA Metallic Cat Summer Cutting Spectacular.

NCHA will issue refunds for stalls at member’s request following July 5, in the event that WRMC does not reinstate a clause regarding day hauling. I ask exhibitors to remain patient and understanding with these changes. If you have not made stall reservations, please hold off until July 5. We will continue to update our members as we receive notices from WRMC.

The back-number policy will remain in effect. Back numbers will be issued for all horses on the grounds once NCHA has checked the horse’s health papers and Coggins test results. After the papers have been reviewed, all horses will receive a back number that must be worn in both the competition arena and all practice areas. Back numbers will be pinned on the left side of the horse’s saddle blanket and must be visible at all times. Paperwork for horses competing must be checked in at the show office. Back numbers for all other horses can be issued at multiple locations.

With the guidelines continuing to develop from local and state officials, NCHA will release personal health and safety protocols for the show following July 5.

NCHA continues to work hard to ensure our members have the opportunity to compete safely and enjoy their time in Fort Worth. I know the constant changes can be frustrating, but I thank each of you for your understanding as we prepare for the show.

Best to you,

Jay Winborn

NCHA Executive Director
