NCHA Show Approvals Update
NCHA SET TO RESUME SHOW APPROVALS
The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) announced that they will resume show approvals beginning April 27. NCHA recommends show producers and affiliates follow local and state guidelines to ensure the safety of their members while establishing best practices.
NCHA Standing Rules 5 and 6 have been amended for a limited time to allow for shorter approval and edit timelines for all NCHA-produced events. This amendment will run from April 27 through the end of July. Show approval applications must be received in the office 15 days prior to entries closing, and changes can be made up to seven days prior to entries closing.
NCHA Program Standings remain suspended until further notice. Earnings from shows during this time will not be calculated for award standings for the 2020-point year but will count towards NCHA lifetime earnings. These standings include Amateur Horse and Rider of the Year, Non-Pro and Open Horse of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Senior World Tour, World, Youth World and Youth Rookie of the Year Standings.
Earnings during this time will count toward Lifetime Earnings, Area Leader Standings, Regional 4/5/6-year-old standing (less than $10,000 added LAE), Challenger Regional Championship Standings, Certificates of Achievement, Achievement Buckle awards and horse and rider eligibility. Information regarding the Youth World Point Year is being evaluated and an update will be provided in the coming weeks.
NCHA is looking forward to a safe return to horse shows. This timeline will continue to be evaluated as more guidelines are released from local and state officials and NCHA will provide a two week notice of any changes.
