NCHA President refelcts on the Zane Schulte selection process

Message from the President

I recently had the honor and privilege to participate as a member of the Zane Schulte Award selection committee. Obviously, all of the members of the NCHA have been aware of this prestigious award that is given each year to a trainer. The award is in its 19th year. Each year the nominating committee meets and reviews all the applications that have been submitted, stating reasons why a particular trainer should be chosen for the award. The criteria is simple the applicants need to show what they have done to make NCHA better through their actions not only in the show pen but how they contribute in other ways. Their helping with youth programs, helping new members, holding clinics and seminars, Anything, and everything that shows their involvement in making NCHA better. I was amazed at how many qualified people were nominated and what a hard decision it is to pick just one. Some of the trainers nominated have been nominated multiple times by many different people. Reading the letters of recommendation made it even more difficult to choose just one. The content of the letters proves that we have some of the best people in our trainers based on their honesty, integrity, and dedication to the NCHA and its members. Please look up the past recipients of this award, and you will see that everything I say is true. Most important is the fact that Barbara & Tom Schulte have created this award and, for 19 years, have continued it. This is so important because NCHA is about family and will always be about family. Their dedication to their son and what he stood for is NCHA. God bless both of you. The winner will be announced and given the award at this year's futurity.

Sincerely,
