Weekend Warrior Report
NCHA Weekend Warrior Road Trip Report
NCHA is committed to the success and prosperity of the weekend cutter, with the implementation of the NCHA Weekend Warrior Road Trip! As future budget and funding allows, NCHA officers and staff plan to travel to weekend cuttings across the country to interact, problem solve and celebrate our great Weekend Warriors. Since the beginning of the month NCHA’s President-Elect, Ron Pietrafeso, Executive Director, Kirk Slaughter, and incoming Chief Financial Officer, Lance Bryson have traveled to weekend cutting shows to visit with competitors and show staff.
First stop was Whitesboro, Texas, where Kirk and Lance visited with MCHA show staff Gail and Bob Dittmeier and spoke with NCHA judge, Eddie Buttom. Kirk subsequently traveled to the PK Cutters weekend cutting in Graham, Texas, where he visited with many NCHA members and longtime show secretaries Jessica and Dee McLauchlin.
One final stop for Ron and Kirk was in Gonzales, Louisiana, for the Circle D Cutting’s Weekend Cutting and Clinic.. Circle D kicked the weekend off with an incredible teaching clinic from Casey Crouch and Keith Deaville. The pair coached participants and offered many valuable recommendations from a trainer’s and judge’s perspective on how to improve runs as a competitor.
They rounded out the day with a much anticipated batch of yummy, homemade jambalaya, prepared by Corey and Reid Trammel!
