Only Sandy Bonelli with 228 points, aboard Shakin Flo in 1999, has earned a higher score in the event.

Kristen Galyean, Claremore, Okla., champion of the 2014 NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro on ZR One, scored 222.5 points on Duramax Dually for the 2019 Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro reserve championship. Duramax Dually, by Dual Rey, also placed as a Super Stakes Classic Open finalist with Kristen’s husband, Wesley. Kristen is the NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $702,847.

Paula Wood, Stephenville, Tex., winner of the 2014 NCHA Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro with Donas Suen Boon, scored 221 points to place third in the 2019 Super Stakes Non-Pro Classic aboard Suen Too Be Black, by Boon Too Suen. Wood is the NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $2,454,562.

Megan Miller, the NCHA Hall of Fame earner of $1,167,760, will collect $16,442 for her latest win. In addition to the 2018 and 2019 Super Stakes championships with Carolena Reyn, Miller also showed Itawtathenapuddycat and Travs Scooter in 2009 to win the NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro and the Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro, respectively.

Miller is also one of only five riders to have won the Super Stakes Non-Pro and the Super Stakes Classic Non-Pro in consecutive years, on the same horse. Sandy Bonelli did it with Shakin Flo in 1998 and 1999; Skip Queen and Sister CD did it in 2006 and 2007; Mary Jane Kelley and Amanda Starlight in 1993 and 1994; and Phil Rapp and Playboys Ruby in 1991 and 1992.

2019 NCHA Kit Kat Sugar Super Stakes action continues on Sunday, April 14, with the first go-round of the Amateur Classic, followed by the Super Stakes Non-Pro Finals.
