Megan Miller wins Non-Pro Semi-Finals

2018 Lucas Oil NCHA Super Stakes – April 20, 2018 – Fort Worth, Tex.

Megan Miller scored 218.5 points on Carolena Reyn LTE $60,182, by Dual Smart Rey, to win the NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro Semi-Finals, where 21 horses with scores of 214 points or higher earned a draw in Sunday’s  Non-Pro Finals. Ashley Flynn came in second with 218 points aboard Smooth Lines LTE $16,776, by Smooth As A Cat, and Paula Wood was third with 217.5 points on Cool N Hot LTE $106,871, by Hottish.

Megan Miller, winner of the first go-round with 220 points on Carolena Reyn, also earned the high cumulative score of 435.5 points on the red roan mare, and qualified for the Non-Pro Finals with 216 points on Hey Boo Boo LTE $33,375, by Dual Smart Rey, as well.

Cool N Hot, Paula Wood’s mount, was one of two Non-Pro finalists to qualify for Saturday’s Open Semi-Finals. Kobie Wood, Paul’s husband, will show Cool N Hot in the Open Semi-Finals, and Casey Green will ride Bittersweet LTE $62,264 for Chad Bushaw, who showed the Metallic Cat daughter to earn 216.5 points in the Non-Pro Semi Finals.

Seven of the Non-Pro finalists also qualified for the 15-rider Non-Pro Limited Finals: Ryan Rapp on Manteca Moe LTE $24,141, by Hydrive Cat; Teresa Padgett on Booger Money LTE $8,163, by KTZ Rey Of Cash; Lance Cooper on Zen And Tonic LTE $95,479, by High Brow CD; Alexa Dahl on Playsomethingsmooth LTE $4,342, by Smooth As A Cat; Kyle Manion on Smooth Davey Jane LTE $7,743, by Smooth As A Cat; Jessie Domann on Reymance Me Baby LTE $14,104, by KTZ Rey Of Cash; and Lauren Middleton on Light Em Upp LTE $23,908, by Light N Lena.

Smooth As A Cat is the leading sire of 2018 NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro finalists, with three. Other sires with multiple finalists are Dual Smart Rey; Hottish; KTZ Rey Of Cash; and Metallic Cat, each with two. Booger Money and Reymance Me Baby are two of four money earners from KTZ Rey Of Cash’s first crop of 17 foals.
