NCHA CHARITIES FOUNDATION
The NCHA CHARITES FOUNDATION is organized and shall be operated exclusively for charitable purposes as a supporting organization to the National Cutting Horse Association; and is organized and operated to encourage, promote and develop the Cutting Horse as a highly unique and exceptional equine athlete.
The Foundation shall support and benefit NCHA, by, maintaining scholarship funds, providing crisis funding, developing educational and animal welfare and research programs, and developing programs designed to honor the legendary people and great horses that have shaped our industry and to preserve and tell the stories of the great horses and horsewomen and horsemen of the past to future generations.

COMMITTEES
FINANCE AND AUDIT. The Finance and audit committee shall oversee the investments, audits, budgets and all financial affairs of the Foundation.
SCHOLARSHIP AND CRISIS.
The Scholarship Committee shall provide financial assistance to members of the NCHA/NYCHA. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, financial need and cutting horse involvement, as well as leadership and communication skills. Crisis funding shall provide financial assistance to members of the NCHA/NYCHA in accordance with guidelines established by the Board of Trustees.
HISTORY AND PRESERVATION.
The History and Preservation committee shall be responsible for acceptance, preservation, documentation and other activities relating to the curatorship of NCHA and the Foundations’ historic memorabilia and for making such memorabilia available to the public for educational and charitable purposes.
EDUCATION.
The Education committee shall be responsible for coordinating and assisting with the educational programs and presentations of the Foundation and promotion of the Cutting Horse and the sport of Cutting. Such programs could be Foundation Fund Raising Events, Judging Clinics, Cutting Clinics, Promotional activities at World Equestrian Games and European Championships, and promotion at like equine event through grants.
HORSE AND ANIMAL WELFARE AND RESEARCH.
The Horse and Animal Welfare and Research committee shall be responsible for the overall health and welfare of the horses and cattle associated with the sport of cutting through the establishment of guidelines for care, and monitoring the success of the programs. Through grants, the Foundation will charter research studies with Universities performing a wide range of research related to the health, welfare and utility of the horse and health and safety of cattle used for competition.
