This scholarship was started in 1992 with private donations from various individuals and corporations.  In 1995 several NCHA affiliates in Area 18 decided to donate $1.00 per entry to the fund.  Those associations still participating are Area 18, Wateree CHA, and Northern Piedmont CHA.  We also continue to get donations from individuals every year.  Since the fund began, we have paid out $39,000 in scholarship money.

Requirements: 
Youth participants must live in Area 18. 
Youth member must qualify in the top 12 year-end point standings in Area 18.
(Those who qualify are mailed an invitation at the end of the point year)

Scholarships awarded:
First place - $3,000
Second place - $2,000
Third place - $1,500
Fourth place $1,000
Fifth place - $500
