NYCHA Events

  • NCHA World Finals
Cutters in each of 11 classes, including junior and senior youth, share the glory and the opportunity of the NCHA World
    Finals.
The top 50 money earners in each class at the end of the point year are invited to participate in the NCHA World
    Finals in Amarillo, Texas.
Both the junior and senior youth classes earn points in two go-rounds, plus points awarded in
the working finals.  The “World Champion” in each class is determined by combined earnings throughout the point year,
plus points won in the World Finals show. Total points earned at the World Finals event determine the “Show Champion”
    for each class.

  • Wayne Hodges Trailer Sales & Outlaw Conversions/NCHA Eastern National Championships
The top ten participants in each affiliate and in each area qualify to compete in the Eastern National Championships
held in Jackson, Mississippi during the month of March each year.  All youth finalists receive awards and the Junior and
Senior Champions and Reserve Champions receive scholarships.  During the National Championships, youth members
may also participate in team cutting contests, NYCHA business meetings and pizza parties.

Wayne Hodges Trailer Sales & Outlaw Conversions/NCHA Western National Championships
The top ten participants in each affiliate and in each area qualify to compete in the Western National Championships
held in Ogden, Utah at the end of April each year.  All youth finalists receive awards and the Junior and Senior Champions
and Reserve Champions receive scholarships.  During the Western National Championships, youth members may also
participate in team cutting contests, NYCHA business meetings, ice-skating and pizza parties.

  • NYCHA Convention and Memorial Scholarship Cutting
Each summer the NYCHA holds its Annual Youth Convention and the John Roberts & Cole McGee Memorial scholarship
cutting in Fort Worth, Texas.  During the four-day event, youth members conduct business meetings, elect officers,
participate in a family fun night and attend educational workshops in addition to competing in the junior or senior youth
scholarship cutting.  The scholarship cuttings are the largest youth cutting of the year and more than $28,000 in scholarships
are awarded to both Junior and Senior finalists.  The annual youth awards banquet is held in conjunction with the
convention and cutting to recognize members’ achievements throughout the year. The entry deadline is June 12, 2006
and cost to enter in the junior or senior youth class is only $75.

  • NCHA Approved Weekend Shows
Almost all of the 125 NCHA affiliates from across the United States and Canada offer youth classes as part of their
regularly scheduled shows.  Many shows offer both a Senior Youth and a Junior Youth class.  Each of the 125 NCHA
affiliates and 25 NCHA areas recognize their top 10 youth at the year-end.  Youth competitions are only held on the
weekend during the normal school year.
