Friend of NYCHA Award
A recognition program for donors and supporters of NYCHA who have made a significant financial or personal contribution to NYCHA.

Some people want it to happen, some wish it to happen, others make it happen.”                                                             ~Unknown

In the 10 years since its creation, the National Youth Cutting Horse Association has grown from 588 members in 1993 to more than 1,200 members.   In 2003, the NYCHA Stallion Service Program will generate more than $105,000 in income that will support youth scholarships, awards and educational activities; participation in the three major youth cuttings is at an all time high and more than $135,000 in college scholarships will be awarded to NYCHA members.

There have been many people who have played an important role in the continued growth and success of the youth association; the creation of the “Friend of NYCHA” award will provide much deserved recognition to those individuals and NCHA corporate sponsors who have “made it happen” year after year.   The award will be given annually during the NYCHA awards banquet to youth supporters who have exhibited a long-term commitment to the success of the youth program.  If you would like to nominate someone who has made a significant contribution at the national level – either financially or through personal effort – please send a written nomination (a brief summary of the nominees contributions) to NCHA no later than June 1 each year.  For more information contact Danette McGuire, NCHA Youth Coordinator.

Honoree must contribute to NYCHA at a national level that potentially benefits all youth members
