• NYCHA Convention and Memorial Scholarship Cutting
  Each summer the NYCHA holds its Annual Youth Convention and the John Roberts & Cole McGee Memorial scholarship
  cutting in Fort Worth, Texas.  During the four-day event, youth members conduct business meetings, elect officers,
  participate in a family fun night and attend educational workshops in addition to competing in the junior or senior youth
  scholarship cutting.  The scholarship cuttings are the largest youth cutting of the year and more than $28,000 in scholarships
  are awarded to both Junior and Senior finalists.  The annual youth awards banquet is held in conjunction with the
  convention and cutting to recognize members’ achievements throughout the year. The entry deadline is June 12, 2006
  and cost to enter in the junior or senior youth class is only $75.

8 am               Jr. Youth 1st-go - W.R. Watt Arena

9 - 5 pm         Practice and decorate for banquet

7:30 pm          Awards Banquet (dinner, awards & dance) - Round Up Inn

10 am            Stick Horse Cutting

10 am             Youth Art Activities – French Room

1 pm               General Membership Meeting - Centennial Room - W.R. Watt building

2 pm               Area Director Meeting - Centennial Room - W.R. Watt building

 3 pm              NCHA Youth Committee Meeting

 8 pm              Talent Show – Centennial Room (sign up at registration on Thursday)

 Monday, July 17

7:30 am          Line up for Youth Grand Entry (starts promptly at 8 AM)

 Junior and Senior Youth Finals (immediately following Grand Entry)
