SAM’S Club, Radio Disney and NCHA/NYCHA, Promote Reading

Ft. Worth, Texas- SAM’S Club, Radio Disney and NCHA/NYCHA will make reading fun this summer. They have teamed up to promote and encourage children to read.

SAM’S Club, Radio Disney and NCHA/NYCHA are sponsoring a coloring contest that rewards the winners with scholarship money. Scholarships will be presented to two age groups: 3-7 years old and 8-12 years old. Radio Disney will also host a series of book readings for kids at several area SAM’S Club locations over a 7-week period to help promote the “Get Caught Reading” campaign. Each SAM’S Club location reading will be giving away a $200 Savings Bond.

The campaign will make a stop at the NCHA Summer Cutting Spectacular, July 16th at Will Rogers Coliseum. SAM’S Club will have a booth in the Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall and will be holding a book drive. Items encouraged to donate are used books that are still in good condition and readable. The books will then be donated to libraries in need.

Throughout the day of July 16th, there will be several local celebrity book readings at the booth. Bob Kingsley is one of the local celebrities who will read in the book reading as well as several others.

Each of these events promotes reading and together encourages the continuing education of all the youth involved.  For more information call the NCHA office (817) 244-6188.
