NCHA Introduces Web Site Enhancements

www.nchacutting.com now has more information for cutting horse enthusiasts

(Fort Worth, TX) — It is now even easier to keep track of your NCHA earnings at www.nchacutting.com. The official web site of the National Cutting Horse Association now allows users to check rider earnings by name, and to verify NCHA class eligibility for horses.

The goal of the change is to give NCHA members and site users to "help themselves" to information that is pertinent to their needs. Instead of having to spend time looking up a member's identification number, then going to the web site to research earnings, users now only have to enter a member's name in the Rider Earnings section of www.nchacutting.com to research lifetime earnings. That gives users 24-hour access to statistical information important to their cutting horse interests and activities.

"These enhancements will truly be a benefit to people with Internet access," noted NCHA Manager of Shows Dave Brian. "For contestants to show secretaries, this information on lifetime horse and rider earnings, and class eligibility, is what our members told us they wanted to have access to via our web site. Now they can access this information whenever, and wherever, they want it."

Show secretaries will benefit from the new access to Horse Earnings information. Although most of the eligibility information will only need to be updated once a year at the end of the point year, the new access will allow anyone to verify a horse's eligibility standing at any time.

"One of our major goals has been to utilize technology to get accurate and helpful information to our members as quickly as possible," said NCHA Executive Director Jeff Hooper. "Having this information on earnings and eligibility available on our web site is another step toward meeting this goal."

Other ways NCHA has used its web site to provide timely information to cutting enthusiasts include: real time video of NCHA’s "Triple Crown of Cutting" events; a bi-weekly electronic newsletter sent via e-mail: a "Daily Chatter" full-color newspaper posted on the NCHA web site each day during major shows; entries and results from cutting horse contests across the nation and on-line advertising from the association’s award winning Cutting Horse Chatter monthly magazine."

The Information Services department at NCHA has been working very diligently to make these changes possible, and to make records within the NCHA database accessible from the Internet.

"In our recent membership survey, over 90% of our members said our web site was very important to them," commented Hooper. "We are continually looking for ways to use technology to assist our members throughout the country, and throughout the world."
