Establishes New Sponsorship Relationship With NCHA
Fort Worth, Texas (April 18, 2001)-- The National Cutting Horse Association is proud to announce a new sponsorship agreement with Sean Ryon Western Store and Saddle Shop. The Sean Ryon / NCHA Shoot-out held in conjunction with the NCHA Summer Cutting Spectacular, July 12th through 29, 2001, at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
"The NCHA shows have always been good for our business from the start so it's a natural progression to become involved on a bigger scale," said Sean Ryon. Located just north of the historical Fort Worth Stockyards, the store caters to the western horse enthusiast and showman across the country. Sean Ryon’s Western Store and Saddle Shop offers handmade boots, the best custom hat crease money can buy, custom saddles, tailored chaps, horse tack for the show ring and the trail, show garments of the finest materials and craftsmanship and exclusive jewelry.
"Sean has an excellent reputation for quality western merchandise and this is what NCHA looks for in our sponsor partnerships," said Jeff Hooper, Executive Director NCHA. The Sean Ryon / NCHA Shoot-out is a head-to-head competition between the winners from each of the eleven classes in the Chevy Trucks / NCHA Eastern National Championships in Jackson, Mississippi and the Chevy Trucks / NCHA Western National Championships in Ogden, Utah. The class winners of the Shoot-out will be awarded a Sean Ryon trophy saddle.
The sport of Cutting has roots in Western ranching traditions, where good horses were a necessity for everyday ranch work and cattle handling. "Cutting" horses specialized in their ability to separate or "cut" one cow from a herd of others, for branding, doctoring or shipping. The National Cutting Horse Association was formed in 1946 by a group of cowboys and ranchers, who wanted to promote cutting competitions, have standardize rules and preserve the cutting horse's Western heritage. Today, the Fort Worth based NCHA represents more than 12,000 members in 22 countries and oversees more than 1,400 NCHA-approved shows with more than $22 million in total prize money awarded annually.
