Sooner Trailer/NCHA Weekend To Be Held June 1- 3 Across The Country

Fort Worth, Texas (May 24, 2001)—Cutting Horse riders from 25 areas in the United States and Canada will get to compete for a total of $50,000 in added money provided by Sooner Trailer and National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) during Sooner Trailer/NCHA Weekend June 1-3.  Each geographic area will receive an NCHA official trophy to be awarded in the $2000 limit rider class.

Non-Pro division cutters will be vying for the chance to compete in Fort Worth at the Summer Cutting Spectacular on Saturday, July 28 at the Sooner Trailer/NCHA Weekend Workoff.  The top money earning Non-Pro riders from each region will compete.  The grand prize will be a three-horse slant deluxe Sooner Trailer.

Sooner Trailer manufactures a wide variety of all-aluminum trailers for horses and livestock.  These state-of-the-art trailers truly represent the design of performance engineering, combining structural integrity, durability, and stylish design with quality workmanship. Sooner Trailer, a leader in the livestock industry, is the "Official Trailer of the NCHA".

The Sooner Trailer/NCHA Weekend was created in 1989 to celebrate the backbone of the NCHA -the weekend cutter.  It was grass root cuttings held on the weekends in the mid-forties that lead to the formation of the National Cutting Horse Association.  Today, the organization is over 13,000 members strong.

The National Cutting Horse Association was formed in 1946 by a group of cowboys and ranchers, who wanted to promote cutting competitions, have standardize rules and preserve the cutting horse's Western heritage.  Today, the Fort Worth based NCHA represents more than 13,000 members in 22 countries and oversees.  There are more than 1,400 NCHA-approved shows with more than $22 million in total prize money awarded annually.
