Cutting demonstrations with Joe Montana at the Western States Horse Expo

NFL Hall of Famer will help spread enthusiasm about cutting

(Fort Worth, TX)Strictly by the nature of the sport, the cutting demonstrations at the Western States Horse Expo will be dynamic. However, the National Cutting Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association have managed to put the demonstrations over the top by bringing together top trainers with one top-name superstar.

NFL Hall of Famer Joe Montana will be one of four cutters in a package that includes Leon Harrel, Andrew Coates and Nicole Coates. Harrel, of Kerrville, Texas, has a long history in the NCHA and uses training methods endorsed by world-renowned horse trainer Pat Parelli.

Joe Montana has been a member of the NCHA since 1997, when he opted for the Lifetime Member option. His horses have earned more than $464,000 in NCHA competition, and Montana himself shows in the Amateur division with earnings to date of $2,275.

During his stellar career as a quarterback in the National Football League, Montana played with the 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Ever the competitor, he led his teams to 11 playoffs. Along the way, he captured nine divisional championships and four Super Bowl victories. In 2000, Joe Montana was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

At the Western States Horse Expo, which will be held at the Cal Expo Center in Sacramento, California, from May 31 through June 2, Montana's athletic skills will be directed at his latest sporting endeavor -- cutting.

The Western States Horse Expo was designed to give horse enthusiasts in the Northwest an opportunity to learn more about horses, meet professionals in the industry, and ride an American Quarter Horse. During the three-day exposition, AQHA will present 4ahorse Test Rides on American Quarter Horses. 4ahorse is quickly becoming one of the most comprehensive resources for horse-related referrals and equine education in the industry.
