Watch the Futurity LIVE on Dish TV

Futurity Open finals will air Sunday, December 14 on PPV

(Fort Worth, TX)    For the second year, the National Cutting Horse Association has teamed with Cowboy TV to make the Futurity Open finals available LIVE in your home.

The live, pay-per-view telecast of the 2003 NCHA Futurity will be aired on Dish Network. The program will be hosted by Red Steagall and friends, beginning at 7:00 p.m. CST on Sunday, December 14.

The NCHA World Championship Futurity is the association’s largest and most highly-anticipated event of the year, showcasing three-year-old cutting horses competing for $3 million in prize money. In their debut competition, these athletes and their riders must step in and out-perform the rest of the field in four eliminatory rounds before being crowned a Champion.

The 2003 NCHA World Championship Futurity will draw some 1,300 three-year-old cutting horses to compete for an estimated $3 million purse. The pressure is high for horse and rider to success … the Champion of the Open division is guaranteed $200,000. Cutting horse enthusiasts from all over the world gather in Fort Worth every fall to witness history in the making at the Futurity.

But again in 2003, even if you can’t make it to Fort Worth for the Futurity, you can still see all of the action life from your own home! Viewers will be able to see for themselves the intelligence, beauty, skill and incredible athleticism of the 20 horses that earned the right to compete in the Open Finals. The telecast will also include highlights from the Non-Pro cutting finals earlier in the week.

You must be a Dish TV subscriber to view the telecast, and will be able to order the broadcast through your DISH remote control. The National Cutting Horse Association is made up of 15,000 members across the United States with a wide range of backgrounds. The sport of cutting has roots in Western ranching traditions, where good horses were a necessity for everyday ranch work and cattle handling. From cowgirls to CEOs, from firefighters to professional football players, the common ground is often in the cutting arena. Each year more than 1,400 NCHA-approved events are held throughout the country with more than $28 million in prize money awarded.
