Flowmaster Inc., becomes title sponsor of NCHA Super Stakes & Super Stakes Classic

California-based muffler company now a major supporter of National Cutting Horse Association

(Fort Worth, TX) — Flowmaster, Inc., manufacturer of high performance mufflers and complete exhaust systems, specializes in keeping things quiet on the road. But the Santa Rosa, California, company is making some big noise in the cutting horse world by coming forward with a major sponsorship package for the National Cutting Horse Association.

Flowmaster will be the title sponsor of the NCHA Super Stakes and Super Stakes Classic, beginning in 2002.

Famous for quality and engineering excellence, Flowmaster-equipped cars have won more races than all other mufflers combined. Over the past 18 years, Flowmaster's patented technology has also blazed new trails in the passenger car and tow vehicle markets. Their customers are saving 100 million gallons of fuel per year.

"We're very pleased to be with the National Cutting Horse Association," said Richard Small, Flowmaster's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We're looking forward to a very solid relationship."

"This is a tremendous boost for cutting," said NCHA Executive Director Jeff Hooper. "Flowmaster's commitment has enabled the NCHA to significantly increase the purse for the Super Stakes. Beginning in 2002, we anticipate the total purse to be well in excess of $2 million."

Ray Flugger founded Flowmaster as a research and design company in 1983. Horsepower, control, quality and excitement -- the elements that Flowmaster works with every day -- are all familiar to anyone who has ridden a cutting horse.

"Performance doesn't always mean screeching tires and burning rubber," Small pointed out. "We also increase performance in the areas of saving fuel, more towing power, less engine heat and longer engine life."

"We have a lot to offer cutters. When you're towing horse trailers up and down mountain ranges and everywhere else, you need a lot of torque. And with the rising cost of fuel, the greater economy we offer is a factor, too."

Ray's wife, Winnie Flugger, is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Flowmaster, and also a new cutter. She shows in the $50,000 Amateur and $2,000 Limit Rider classes.

In addition to its support of the National Cutting Horse Association, Flowmaster is the official muffler of Indy Lights, Ivan Stewart's Pro Truck Series, ARCA, NAMARS Midget Series and an approved muffler for the World of Outlaws Sprint car and Busch North NASCAR organizations. Flowmaster also proudly sponsors organizations such as the NHRA, NSCA Drag Racing Series, NMCA/Power Events Series, World Ford Challenge, The Super Stock Reunion, Casting Kids program, Special Events Series, Cars for Kids program, B.A.S.S. Bass Fishing Federation, Americruise and the Hot Rod Power Tours.
