Bobble Head Mania Comes To

Cutting Horse Industry

First of its kind memento unveiled by NCHA for 40th Futurity

(Fort Worth, TX) — Bobble head dolls are the latest craze sweeping the nation. Kids and adults alike are collecting bobble heads made in the likeness of their favorite sports stars, and they have been featured in USA Today, Sports Illustrated, the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and on CNN and ESPN.

Not to be out-done, the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA), in conjunction with Tony Lama Boots and Cavender’s Boot City, will unveil the world’s first-ever bobble head horse doll during the 2001 NCHA World Championship Futurity. The 7 ½"-tall doll is decked out with a trademark NCHA jacket, complete with chaps, boots, and spurs. Noted Western artist Jerry McAdams of Hico, Texas, designed the doll. To get a "sneak preview" at this one-of-a-kind bobble head doll, go to www.nchacutting.com/bobblehead.htm.

NCHA bobble head dolls are available free (while supplies last) with any qualifying purchase of Tony Lama boots at participating Cavender's Boot City stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The offer begins December 10. Go to the store locator at www.cavenders.com for participating store locations, and you can view the entire Tony Lama line of boots at www.tonylama.com.

"We are excited to be involved in this promotion with the National Cutting Horse Association," said Tony Lama Boots Brand Manager Joe Baca. The lifestyle enjoyed by NCHA members is a perfect fit for our "100% Cowboy" image of Tony Lama Boots."

The bobble head horse dolls will also be available for sale beginning Saturday, December 8 at the Cowboy Christmas Exhibit Hall at the NCHA World Championship Futurity in Fort Worth, Texas. The NCHA bobble head horses make great Christmas presents, stocking stuffers, and conversation pieces. Proceeds from the sale of the limited edition bobble heads will benefit the National Youth Cutting Horse Association, NCHA Charities, and Cancer Care Services.

"Bobble head dolls are certainly a big hit nationally," noted NCHA Executive Director Jeff Hooper. "Bobble head promotions have helped to draw record crowds to major league baseball games and NFL games. Cutting is definitely a ‘major league’ horse sport, and working with Tony Lama Boots and Cavender’s Boot City on this promotion has been a lot of fun."
