Exciting Giveaways and Entertainment

with Chevy Trucks NCHA Eastern National Championship

March 9, 2001, Fort Worth, TX

There is a lot more to the 2000 Chevy Trucks NCHA Eastern National Championship, held in Jackson MS March 13 through 24, than top-notch cutting competition. Cutters and Jackson-area residents will be on hand for their share of world-famous Mississippi hospitality, as well as some exciting giveaways.

On Thursday, March 15 at 8:00 p.m., the Governor and Mrs. Ronnie Musgrove and the Mississippi Division of Tourism present the Taste of Mississippi. The much anticipated event is hosted for cutters by Jackson-area restaurants at the Mississippi Trade Mart, located next to the Mississippi State Fair Grounds Equine Center.

In a drawing following dinner, one lucky Chevy Trucks NCHA Eastern National Championship competitor will receive a brand new Chevy Duramax Diesel Truck, courtesy of Chevy Trucks, the official truck of NCHA.

Every cutting competitor will be hoping for the “luck of the Irish,” on Saturday, March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, at the Catfish Fry and Sooner Trailers Giveaway. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., 400 pounds of catfish, donated by Jimmy Sandifer of Isola, MS and fried to Southern perfection, will be served to cutters by the Mississippi Department of Agriculture. Immediately following dinner, a drawing will be held for Chevy Trucks NCHA Eastern National Championship contestants. The lucky winner will receive the use of a beautiful, new three-horse gooseneck trailer for a full year, courtesy of Sooner Trailers, the official trailer of NCHA.

On Friday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m., cutters and area-residents won’t want to miss the NCHA VIP & Media Cutting and John Deere Lawn Mower Giveaway.  Just a $5.00 donation to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, MS Health Science Campus, entitles the purchaser to a ticket to the event and a chance to win a brand new John Deere riding lawn mower. A drawing will be made immediately following the cutting; ticket holder must be present to win.

A separate drawing will be made for those who cannot attend the NCHA VIP & Media Cutting and John Deere Lawn Mower Giveaway, but who would like to make a $5.00 donation. The winner of this drawing will receive a lifetime NCHA membership (including a lifetime subscription to the Cutting Horse Chatter), along with a leather and wool NCHA jacket valued at $250.00.

Participants in the NCHA VIP & Media Cutting and John Deere Lawn Mower Giveaway include former all-around rodeo champion Dave Appleton; former Dallas Cowboys tight end Jay Novacek; and Wanda Wilson, Executive Director of the Jackson Convention Center and Visitors Bureau.  MISS 103’s morning drive-time host Rick Adams.
