STACIE MCDAVID LEADS AMATEUR SEMI-FINALS

AT NCHA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FUTURITY

 

 

Fort Worth, Texas --- The Amateur Division Semi-Finals held earlier today narrowed the field of hopefuls for the Amateur Futurity crown to fifteen contenders during the National Cutting Horse Association World Championship Futurity in Fort Worth. Stacie McDavid rode Lenas Smart Missy to a score of 219 to win the round, and advance to the Finals competition on Friday at 5 p.m. Lenas Smart Missy is owned by Stacie and her husband David McDavid, of Fort Worth.

Mark Pearson of Spearman, Texas finished the semi-final round in second place with 218.5 points aboard his horse, Flo Little Lena. Third in the round was Dustin Adams of Dublin, Texas, riding WR Missy Hickory. The duo scored 217 points.

A total of 15 horses from the 47 competing in the semi-final round advanced to the Finals. A score of  212 was required to advance into the championship bracket.

This year's Amateur Division in the NCHA World Championship Futurity carries a gross purse of  $281,000.  A total of 260 entries began competition earlier this week, with only the top fifteen remaining. This marks the 39th annual NCHA Futurity event, which has been held in Fort Worth since 1967. This year's total Futurity purse is $2.8 million.
