Fort Worth, Texas -- The American Paint Horse Association (APHA) awarded a $5,000 check to the highest advancing registered Paint Horse gelding during Open competition during the NCHA World Championship Futurity at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. This year's award was presented tonight during the Open Semi-Finals performance to John and Becky Hofeldt of Green River, Wyoming, owners of Budasa Little Smart.

This marks the first year for the American Paint Horse Association's Gelding Plus Award program.  The Gelding Plus program is the American Paint Horse Association's newest program that rewards the owners of three-year-old geldings participating in Open or Non-Pro competition at the NCHA Futurity.  This year the APHA will award $50,000 in Gelding Plus prize money to registered Paint geldings competing in select futurities.

To be eligible to win the Gelding Plus monies, the owner of the Paint gelding must be a current member of APHA and the gelding must be registered as a gelding prior to his three-year-old year.
