Trey Hall Rides High
N Fancy to Win the $20,000 Non-Pro Eastern National Championship
With an impressive 223-point score, Trey Hall, 18, of Bartow, Florida, nailed down the Championship title in the $20,000 Non-Pro competition during the Chevy Trucks/NCHA Eastern National Championships in Jackson, Florida on Tuesday night, riding his 10-year-old mount, High N Fancy.
A five-time National Championship competitor, Hall, who has been cutting for six years, rode to the title this year with a new horse. "This year I knew I had a horse that could win," said Hall, referring to his High Brow Hickory gelding, High N Fancy. "He's a neat horse. Quick and powerful."
Also no stranger to the Eastern National Championships is Lindsay Moore, 20, of Onsted, Michigan, who captured the Reserve title on Tuesday in the $20,000 Non-Pro division with a 219.5-point score riding Playboys Habit. Moore is last year's Reserve Champion in the $10,000 Amateur, Senior Youth, and $50,000 Amateur classes.
The Chevy Trucks/NCHA Eastern National Championship competition will continue daily beginning at 8AM and culminate with the Non-Pro and Open Finals beginning at 8AM on Saturday, March 24. The competitors at this event have qualified to participate through the affiliates or regional cutting competition. More than 900 entries will be vying for more than $90,000 in cash and prizes.
