Trey Hunt Passes

Trey Hunt, 41, Millsap, Tex., an esteemed trainer and coach within the North Texas Trey Huntcutting horse community, lost a courageous battle with brain cancer on May 14, 2017. Hunt, the son of NCHA Senior Sales Executive Bobby and Jamie Hunt; is also husband of wife Jenna and father of daughter Kay. An NCHA member since 1988, Hunt specialized in starting and fitting two-year-olds and was the NCHA lifetime earner of $179,795. He had trained the highest selling filly from the 2007 NCHA Futurity, 2-year-old SDP Tell Me Kitty, who sold for $200,000. He had previously placed in the Top 15 in the Open.

"He loved horses and he loved cutting. He adored his wife and daughter," said his father. Trey was born July 28, 1975. 

Celebration of Trey's life will be held Wednesday, May 24 at 2:00pm at Parker County Sheriff's Posse Hall in Weatherford, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to NYCHA.
