Mayfield wins NCHA Vice-Presidential election

NCHA Membership elects Wills Point, TX  resident for leadership

(Fort Worth, TX)--Bob Mayfield, of Wills Point, Texas, will take office as Vice President of the National Cutting Horse Association during the NCHA Convention on June 24-26 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mayfield defeated Dennie Dunn, of Salt Lake City, Utah, in the election that was concluded on June 16.

“I’m excited and very appreciative of all of the people that supported me and voted for me,” said Mayfield, who has been a member of NCHA for nearly 30 years. “I’m looking forward to the next three years, and serving with Mike Mowery and Bill Riddle on the Board.”

Mowery and Riddle will step into their new positions as NCHA President and President-Elect, respectively, at the NCHA Convention. As the new Vice President, Mayfield is now in line to become NCHA President in 2007. An NCHA Director for many years, Mayfield also was a member of the NCHA Executive Committee from 1994-2002.

“The NCHA has been on solid footing for many years, and I just want to see it stay that way,” added Mayfield.

The National Cutting Horse Association is made up of 16,000 members across the United States with a wide range of backgrounds. The sport of cutting has roots in Western ranching traditions, where good horses were a necessity for everyday ranch work and cattle handling. From cowgirls to CEOs, from firefighters to professional football players, the common ground is often in the cutting arena. Each year more than 2,200 NCHA-approved events are held throughout the country with more than $35 million in prize money awarded.
