John Deere/NCHA World Finals

Again to Carry $200,000 in Added Money

Ft. Worth, TX (April 15, 2001)-- Thanks to the continued strong financial support of John Deere, the John Deere/NCHA World Championship Finals will carry a purse of $200,000-added for the event scheduled for February 2002 in Houston, Texas. The 2001 edition of the John Deere/NCHA World finals was the first time that the prestigious cutting horse event carried a $200,000-added purse. In prior years, the event had been at the $100,000-added level.

"John Deere, along with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, have made a significant financial commitment to the NCHA World Finals," noted NCHA Executive Director Jeff Hooper. "The NCHA is proud to be associated with such an outstanding company as John Deere. Their increased support of our 'Super Bowl' event of cutting was a mutually beneficial partnership for us this year, and we are extremely pleased that John Deere has renewed their commitment to this event for 2002."

The John Deere/NCHA World finals pits the top 15 money earning "open horses" against one another in an exciting four-go-round competition held at Reliant Arena during the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. The top 15 money earning non-professional riders during the NCHA point year also compete at the John Deere/NCHA World Finals in the same four-go-round format.

John Deere is the "Official Equipment Provider of the NCHA," and the prestigious company has maintained a sponsorship relationship with the NCHA for the past 10 years. "We have been associated with the NCHA for a number of years, and we are very pleased with our relationship," said Mike Gustafson, Manager Advertising Planning for John Deere agricultural equipment. "The members of NCHA are truly John Deere people. They are very interested in quality and value, and that's what makes our partnership with the organization such a mutually beneficial relationship.”
