(Fort
Worth, TX)--The National Cutting Horse Association, of Fort Worth, Texas,
recently announced several staff changes. The NCHA has retained the services of
Patrick Steenberge as Director of Corporate Development, hired Stacy Pigott as
Associate Editor of the Cutting Horse
Chatter, and promoted existing employees Rebecca Brian and Julie Davis to
the positions of Marketing Manager and Membership Services Manager,
respectively.
The
NCHA’s Director of Properties from 1986-‘94, Steenberge developed the
Association’s Marketing Department. In his new capacity as Director of
Corporate Development, Steenberge will assist the NCHA in solicitation of new
sponsors. A resident of Granbury, Texas, Steenberge owns and operates Global
Sports Group, Inc., a special events business whose client list includes the
NFL, the University of Notre Dame and American Football Coaches Association.
“Patrick’s
initiative, creativity and salesmanship will be a tremendous asset to the NCHA
as we work to increase the sponsor benefits for our membership across the
country,” said NCHA Executive Director Jeff Hooper.
The
NCHA welcomes award-winning writer Stacy Pigott as Associate Editor of the Cutting Horse Chatter, the official
magazine of the NCHA. A graduate of Michigan State University with degrees in
Animal Science and Agricultural Communications, Pigott has been a regular
contributor to the Chatter in recent years.
A resident of Benbrook, Pigott relocated from southern California, where she
worked as Editor at QuarterWeek Publications for 11 years.
“We’re
extremely fortunate to have someone with Stacy’s talent, experience and
enthusiasm come on board at the Chatter,” said NCHA Director of Publishing Alan
Gold.
Rebecca
Brian, formerly Event Coordinator at NCHA, takes over the reins as Marketing
Manager. Brian began attending NCHA events in 1996 and was hired full time
following her 2002 graduation from Texas Christian University, where she
studied journalism, advertising and public relations with an emphasis in
political science. As Marketing Manager, Brian will be responsible for
overseeing the Association’s marketing and media initiatives.
Former
Membership Coordinator Julie Davis has been promoted to the position of
Membership Services Manager. A seven-year employee of the NCHA, Davis started
her tenure at the Association in the marketing department before moving to
membership in 2001. In her new capacity as Membership Services Manager, Davis
will oversee the entire Membership Department while continuing to provide
customer service to new and existing NCHA members. She will also be in charge
of developing membership growth and promotion programs, such as the popular
“Get A Cutter” membership incentive program that is slated to start in Spring
2005.
The
National Cutting Horse Association is made up of over 16,000 members across the
United States with a wide range of backgrounds. The sport of cutting has roots
in Western ranching traditions, where good horses were a necessity for every
day ranch work and cattle handling. From cowgirls to CEOs, from firefighters to
professional football players, the common ground is often in the cutting arena.
Each year more than 2,200 NCHA-approved events are held throughout the country
with more than $35 million in prize money awarded.
