Two Battle for Limited Non Pro Crown

Ferguson and Aylesworth face each other in workoff

(Fort Worth, TX) ¾  There is nothing cutting horse fans like more than to see two horses going head-to-head for a win and fans got their wish during the finals of the Limited Non Pro competition of the National Cutting Horse Association's Summer Spectacular July 28. Featuring 10 finalists, Limited Non Pro competition is open to riders with earnings limited to $50,000.

With both riders scoring a 214 in the finals, the only choice for Scott Ferguson of Hempstead, Texas, and Billie Aylesworth of Lipan, Texas, was to head back to the herd to win their share of the $31,750 purse. Riding Miss Five Across, by Bingo Hickory and out of Tuloma Gay, Ferguson proved he saved the best for last scoring a 216 to win $5,773. The winning duo is proving to be a good match, having captured the Limited Non Pro Futurity win in December 2000. Aylesworth, riding the Skeeto mare, Sheza Neeto Skeeto, held close to steady scoring a 213 to take second for a check totaling $5,195. Carol Dewrell of Gulf Breeze, Florida, to third and a check for $4,618 riding Starlight And Jazz.

Cutting action concludes July 29 with the finals of the Derby Non Pro and Open. Admission is $5 for the finals performance which begins at 11 a.m.
