NYCHA Stallion Service Program accepting bids

NYCHA Stallion Service Program open for bidding

(Fort Worth, TX)—The first phase of the National Youth Cutting Horse Association Stallion Service Program is currently open.  Sealed bids will be accepted until 12 noon, February 1, 2005.

In 2005, stallion owners have donated more than 100 breedings to benefit NYCHA scholarships, awards, and programs.  Youth Coordinator, Danette McGuire, hopes to continue increasing the success of the Stallion Program this year.

“The NYCHA is excited to start the largest fund raiser of the year,” said McGuire.  “This program would not be successful without the support of the buyers and stallion owners.”

Currently sealed bids are being accepted for all of the breedings available in the auction.  The bid must be at least 50 percent of the advertised breeding fee to be considered.  The submitted bids will be opened on February 1 to determine the winner of each breeding.  In the event that two or more people bid the same price, the bidder with the earliest postmark will win.

After February 1, the remaining breedings will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis for 60 percent of the listed breeding fee.  Remaining breedings will be offered until sold or the program ends on June 1.

A complete list of the offered breedings is available on the NCHA website at www.nchacutting.com or by contacting Danette McGuire, Youth Coordinator, at 817-244-6188.

The sport of cutting has roots in Western ranching traditions, where good horses were a necessity for everyday ranch work and cattle handling.  The National Cutting Horse Association was formed in 1946 by a group of cowboys and ranchers who wanted to promote cutting competition, standardize rules and preserve the cutting horses’ Western heritage.  Today, the Fort Worth-based NCHA represents over 16,000 people and oversees more than 2,200 NCHA-approved shows with more than $30 million in total prize money awarded annually.
